A study of water production and temperatures of rotating irregularly shaped cometary nuclei
نویسنده
چکیده
Calculations of water production rates and temperatures for rotating irregularly shaped bodies with and without topography are presented. These calculations are compared with the case of a spherical nucleus. For any combination of orbital parameters, rotation axis orientation, spin period, and physical properties of the nucleus (geometric albedo, emissivity, and thermodynamical properties) the heat diffusion equation in the surface normal direction is solved with the energy balance at the surface, which includes shadowing effects, as a boundary condition. This is done for all the cells in which the object is divided and for a complete orbital revolution around the Sun. Some of the main results obtained are: 1) Bodies with topographic features produce more water vapor than equal area spheres along most of their orbits; 2) Asymmetries in the behavior at pre and postperihelion are less pronounced than in the case of the sphere at large heliocentric distances; 3) Jet-like structures in the inner coma can result from topographic features; 4) Diurnal oscillations can be detectable away from perihelion, even for slightly irregular bodies.

Comparison of the correlation between sleep quality and quality of life of nurses in rotating shifts and fixed shifts
Introduction: Due to the nature of nursing practice, nurses face a variety of stressful situations in the workplace. They are at risk of insomnia since they work irregularly in the morning, evening and night shifts. The irregular sleep-wake pattern in nurses decreases their sleep quality and sleep duration, and also leads to their poor occupational performance. The present study was conducted t...

A 2 1 / 2 D thermodynamic model of cometary nuclei I . Application
A 2 2 dimensional model of cometary nuclei is presented. The comet is considered as a porous ice-dust medium. Heat and gas diffusion between the surface and the inner part of the nucleus is considered. Going beyond models published so far, this work takes into account nucleus rotation and a two dimensional resolution of the diffusion equations, including a gas diffusion theory derived from the ...

Floating, Production, Storage and Offloading “FPSO” have become a popular choice since 1980s for marginal and fast-track developments where subsea pipeline is not an economic or feasible solution for export. Field development usually starts with a concept selection procedure which is constituted from a sequence of multi-disciplinary decision making tasks. As limited data is availabl...
